Council seeks community input to inform a new Active Transport Plan
This strategic document will guide the delivery of walking and cycling infrastructure in the Blue Mountains over the next decade.
Community members are invited to share their experiences and help inform the plan by either visiting one of four pop-up stalls in Glenbrook, Springwood, Lawson and Blackheath or completing our online survey at here
Consultation is open until 5pm Wednesday, 29 October.
Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill said: “We should all be able to get where we need to go safely, with good footpaths and bike paths, safer crossings and calmer streets.
“This project will benefit everyone in our community by providing Council with a framework to invest in new infrastructure that will support people to get around and stay healthy, and for communities to come together.
“Your input during this important consultation will help to shape a safer and more sustainable transport network for our city.”
The Active Transport Plan will build on and replace the existing Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (PAMP) and the Bike Plan 2025, combining them into a single updated strategy.
Active transport is defined as any means of transport that does not involve the use of a motorised vehicle, including walking with the use of aids, wheelchairs and mobility devices, cycling and riding, including children’s bikes with training wheels.
