Mount Victoria Memorial Park is the focus of upgrades designed to improve the parks offering for residents and tourists.
Blue Mountains City Council is inviting residents to participate in the community consultation for the upcoming playspace and courts upgrade project at Mount Victoria Memorial Park.

The project is designed to improve the park’s play and sport offering for locals and promote tourism by encouraging travellers passing through Mount Victoria to stop and enjoy the park, supporting local businesses in the process.

Scheduled to commence construction in April 2025, the upgrade will encompass diverse play options, accessible pathways, and an upgrade to the tennis courts.

Made possible through a $1million grant from the Australian Government’s Priority Community Infrastructure Program, the project builds upon the success of recent endeavours in Mount Victoria, including the Mount Victoria Village Recovery Package, which has revitalised various aspects of the village.

Mayor Mark Greenhill commended the community's active involvement in these initiatives so far, "The dedication of the Mount Victoria community has been instrumental in shaping our recent projects there.

“We're grateful for their ongoing engagement and look forward to continuing this collaboration as we embark on the playspace and courts upgrade."

Residents across the Blue Mountains, especially those in Mount Victoria, are encouraged to participate in the Have Your Say campaign to share their thoughts and ideas on the upgrade and let Council know what they would like to see included.

Following the initial round of feedback, Council will present draft designs for further community input, ensuring that the final project reflects the desires and needs of local residents.

"We want to hear from you about what you envision for the playspace and courts," said Mayor Greenhill. "Your input will guide the decisions we make as we undertake this upgrade."
