Community invited to share feedback on draft playspace designs for Mount Victoria

The release of the designs follows extensive community consultation and responds directly to feedback gathered earlier this year.
Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill said community feedback is essential to the park upgrade.
“We are committed to delivering a playspace that reflects what the Mount Victoria community wants and needs,” Cr Greenhill said.
“These designs respond to input from the community and offer options that provide inclusive play and celebrate Mount Victoria’s local character and history.
“Mount Victoria Memorial Park is not just a favourite park with locals, it’s a stopping point for travellers and visitors. By investing in improved play and recreation spaces, we’re encouraging more people to explore, stay and support local businesses.”
The two playspace designs each feature a diverse range of play equipment and extend the play area to make better use of the surrounding parkland.
One option features a dramatic new ‘SkyTower’ play structure, while the second option offers a more active and challenging play circuit with a flying fox and skill-building elements.
“We want the community to tell us which design they prefer, and which features they like best from each design,” Cr Greenhill said. “The community’s voice will guide the outcome.”
A community consultation session will be held at Mount Victoria Memorial Park on Sunday 29 June, from 11am to 2pm, with Council staff available onsite to answer questions and gather feedback.
Consultation is open until 7 July 2025.
The Mount Victoria Memorial Park Courts and Playspace Upgrade is funded through a grant from the Australian Government’s Priority Community Infrastructure Program.
