The Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill invites the local community to join him at the Mayoral Breakfast: Blue Mountains Community Campaign Against Domestic Violence, on Friday 22 November.

“The purpose of this breakfast is to raise awareness about the prevalence of violence against women, in our community and beyond, and to inspire men to take action to help stop violence against women,” said the Mayor.

“We need to come together with a strong voice to say that we do not accept violence and abuse against women and children.”

The Mayoral Breakfast, a pre-work breakfast, marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, which is the 25th November each year.

“It is important that men do not tolerate violence against women,” said the Mayor. “It is men’s wives, partners, mothers, sisters, daughters and friends whose lives are affected by violence and abuse.”

The Mayoral Breakfast will be held between 7:30am to 9:30am on Friday 22 November at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre in Katoomba. This event is held as a partnership with Blue Mountains City Council and the Blue Mountains Coalition Against Violence and Abuse (CAVA).
