Revolve Recycling Test and Tune in action. Free test and tune sessions are available at the Blue Mountains Bike Fix and Fun Day.
The highly anticipated Buttenshaw Park Pump Track will be officially opened at the Blue Mountains Bike Fix and Fun Day on Saturday 17 May.

Running from 10am to 2pm at Buttenshaw Park, Springwood, the free, action-packed event will include bike riding demonstrations, test and tune sessions, a sausage sizzle and a coffee cart.

“The Buttenshaw Pump Track is a fantastic new facility that is already bringing a lot of joy to young riders and families,” said Mayor Greenhill.

“We’ve worked closely with the community to make sure it’s a space that’s fun, inclusive, and safe, and now we’re inviting everyone to come and help us celebrate.”

Member for Blue Mountains, Ms Trish Doyle MP said “Our community will get to see the benefits of this wonderful new facility for the Mountains at the Blue Mountains Bike Fix and Fun Day.

“It’s a place to gather and to be social in an open space. I’ve been thrilled to see our Government fund the track at Buttenshaw Park and other park projects.

“This is part of a $6.1 million dollar commitment we made as part of the Neighbourhood Park Upgrade Project, to upgrade 16 parks from Medlow Bath to Mt Riverview.”

As part of the day, Ride Blue Mountains are offering Kids’ Skills Sessions. The 20-minute group lessons (maximum six children per session) are running throughout the day, teaching balance, coordination, and essential bike handling on the new pump track.

Meanwhile, Revolve Recycling will be offering free 15-minute bike check-ups and adjustments at the Test and Tune tent. You can also drop off your old bike to be recycled to give your wheels a whole new life. This offering from Resolve Recycling is a NSW Environment Protection Authority Waste and Sustainable Materials Strategy initiative, funded from the waste levy.

Both the Kids’ Skills sessions and Test and Tune sessions are free, but bookings are essential via the webpage listed below.

This celebration marks the completion of Stage 2 of the Buttenshaw Park Youth Playspace and is part of the broader Neighbourhood Parks Program, proudly funded by the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants (WSIG) program.
