Mayor Stephen Lesslie and Cr Cassandra Coleman at the Community Consultation in Cook Street Plaza.
Councillors and Staff interacted with a steady stream of residents on Thursday 3rd May 2018 at Cook St Plaza, responding to concerns about roads, the Draft 2018/19 Budget, the Special Rate Variation proposed for 2019/20 and employment generation and economic activity in the Lithgow LGA.

“We are grateful to the residents from across the local government area who took the time to converse with us on a range of issues important to them, and all submissions made will be considered before any final decision is made” said Mayor Stephen Lesslie.

A number of Councillors attended Cook St Plaza on the day, including Mayor Stephen Lesslie, Cr Cassandra Coleman, Cr Ray Thompson, Cr Steve Ring and Cr Darryl Goodwin.

Council has developed a convenient online forum www.haveyoursay.lithgow.com for members of the community to view the Draft 2018/19 Operational Plan and Draft Schedule of Fees & Charges. The website offers a variety of ways for members of the community to access information including videos by the Mayor and Council Officers discussing a range of programs such as roads, economic development & tourism programs and exiting community projects such as the Adventure Playground and proposal to upgrade skate parks at Wallerawang & Portland.  Fact sheets about Council’s budget, the Lithgow LGA and the proposed special rate variation are available for downloading as well as key capital works programs so that you can see what works have been identified for your area.

If you would like to know what’s planned for your area, the broad range of services Council provides and how the budget is distributed across all service areas to ensure we are catering to community needs, visit www.haveyoursay.lithgow.com” said the Mayor.

“Council encourages members of the community to view the Draft 2018/19 Operational Plan and make a submission by Monday 21 May.  All submissions will be reported for the consideration of Council at its meeting to be held on 25 June” concluded the Mayor, Cr Lesslie.
