Electric vehicle drivers no longer have to face 'range anxiety' as they explore the Blue Mountains, with around 60 electric and hybrid chargers now available for use at more than 25 locations between Glenbrook and Mount Victoria.

Many of these chargers are at hotels and guesthouses, offering the service exclusively for their guests, but there are also several charging stations available for public use.

And with the NSW Government continuing to subsidise new charging stations across the state, more tourism businesses in the Mountains have been incentivised to install chargers, giving EV drivers even more freedom and fear-free time on the road.

Scenic World, for instance, recently received funding to double their number of EV chargers to four; while Kurrara Historic Guest House at Katoomba recently installed two chargers exclusively for the use of guests.

“We recognised that there was a significant increase in EV cars on the road, and not a significant enough increase in charging stations,” says Kurrara’s owner Iain Everington.

“For our guests, it’s an added bonus where they can come, plug in their vehicle, get up in the morning and go out with a full tank.”
