Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the M4 Motorway at South Penrith. As part of work to build a new interchange over the M4, night time work hours have been extended by one hour from 4am to 5am tomorrow.

Work is scheduled to start at 10pm tonight, 19 July, and finish at 5am on Friday 20 July, weather permitting.

During the work the M4 Motorway will be closed in both directions with detours in place via the entry and exit ramps to The Northern Road.

Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.

Remaining work hours to complete the interchange are:

  • Monday (Tuesday mornings) to Thursday (Friday mornings) from 10pm to 4am
  • Friday nights (Saturday mornings) from 10pm to 7am
  • Saturday nights (Sunday mornings) from 10pm to 8am
  • Sunday nights (Monday mornings) from 10pm to 4am

No night work will take place from Friday 20 July to Sunday 22 July.

Work is planned to be completed by Friday 10 August, weather permitting.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, follow the direction of signs and traffic control.

Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
