Waratah Festival
This Spring the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah is going wild for waratahs and celebrating other iconic plants and animals of Australia. Discover the magnificent emblem of NSW at the Waratah Festival, join Carol Probets on our Bird Walk and Talk or learn all about the Buzz on Native Bees.

Presented by Proteaflora, the Warratah Festival will host a state-wide bloom competition along with guided Garden tours. The festival will include a waratah growing workshop, an open day at a local waratah farm where you will see a plantation of over 1,000 waratah plants (including rare ones), spectacular wildflower arrangements and a Garden plant sale, where you will have the opportunity to purchase one of these Aussie icons yourself.

If you love the plants and wildlife of the Garden, join expert birding guide Carol Probets on Bird Walk & Talk. This season we are introducing the new Bird Walk & Talk for Kids, where they will learn to become a bird nerd and how to recognise some iconic Australian birds.

Or discover the importance of everyone's favourite flying insect at the Buzz on Native Bees Talk. This Spring the Garden will be filled with blooming flowers and busy bees; the perfect setting to learn how these tiny creatures help create the Garden’s beautiful floral displays.

The Garden has also collaborated with the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre for Blue Mountains Botanica, a celebration of where art meets science through exhibitions, storytelling, workshops, walks & talks. For the first time, the Margaret Flockton botanical illustration exhibition will be in the Blue Mountains, showcasing illustrations from across the world. There is something for everyone!
