Celebrate 10 years of the Blue Mountains Theatre & Community Hub!
HUBBUB, now is its third year, is an annual precinct arts celebration that joins the Springwood Library, Braemar Gallery and The Hub for free community activities, including artisan market stalls, exhibitions and workshops.
On Saturday 16 August a special HUBBUB will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Theatre and Hub with a day of free activities and also a Book Week parade to mark the occasion.
“We’re delighted to be celebrating 10 years since the Blue Mountains Theatre & Community Hub opened its doors,” Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill said. “With its expansive forecourt area, large theatre and multiple meeting rooms, the Hub continues to be a popular location in the heart of Springwood for community events.
“This HUBBUB will be extra special as it marks an impressive milestone for this precinct with ten successful years as a world-class venue for theatre, music, cultural events, as well as a prized space for local community groups and local acts.
“Everyone is invited to attend this celebration, and I encourage those living throughout the Mountains to enjoy this fun-filled, free event.”
Visitors can browse a variety of locally made wares at the Love Local Makers Markets while enjoying free entertainment from Blue Mountains Musical Society, Dtiatti Dhangurra from Springwood High School, Zany Yare Youth Circus, and Hands, Heart and Feet.
The Springwood Library invites visitors to dress as their favourite character for the Book Week parade and there will be free craft activities and a treasure hunt.
At Braemar House, you can wander through the Sculpture Garden and meet the Woolly Wildlife Warriors, engage in interactive workshops and view three beautiful exhibitions from Blue Mountains artists Anna Di Mezza, Lesley Kinney and Catherine McCorkill.
The Hub Upstairs Gallery will feature a retrospective of images of live performances and concerts that have taken place under its roof in the last 10 years.
Attendees can also grab lunch from the food vans or bring a picnic to enjoy on the grassy forecourt.
HUBBUB is on Saturday 16 August, 9am to 3pm at Blue Mountains Theatre + Community Hub, 106 Macquarie Road, Springwood. For further information:here
