Liberal member of the Legislative Council and Blue Mountains resident Shayne Mallard has welcomed the introduction of more than 40 extra weekly services for customers on popular routes in the Penrith and Blue Mountains areas from 12 February.

“The NSW Government is committed to delivering better public transport services when and where they are needed and in response to demand, we’ve added more weekly services to several key routes to give customers more choice on when they travel,” said Mr Mallard.

“More services will be added to route 688 from Penrith to Emu Heights and route 689 between Penrith and Leonay.

“These will replace the evening and weekend services which were previously provided by the route 1688 loop service, resulting in a more consistent timetable.

“However, customers will benefit from 27 additional weekly services for customers travelling in the Emu Plains area throughout the week.

“Over 20 additional weekly services will also be added to the route 692W between Springwood and Winmalee.

“This will result in services operating to and from Springwood on weekdays up to 9pm, with services running up to 7pm on Saturdays and 6pm on Sundays.

“Adjustments are also being made to timetables for routes 692H and 692Y to accommodate the changes to route 692W, improving travel in the Winmalee area.”

Changes will come into effect on 12 February.
