Blue Mountains Trains - Extended Service Disruption
Buses are replacing trains between Penrith and Springwood due to emergency works at Glenbrook after a huge boulder came away from the cliff face above the train line threatening the safety of the track below.
Following the discovery of culturally significant Aboriginal handprint rock art at the site, work to break up a precariously positioned 20 tonne boulder has been put on hold whilst preservation plans are prepared.
Allow extra travel time, listen to announcements and check indicator boards or consider alternative travel arrangements.
The track closure affects trains between Sydney Central and the Blue Mountains as well as Sydney Central to Bathurst services.
Replacement buses will continue running until at least until next week Monday 8th April 2019.
