Blaxland TAFE NSW Student Wins Silver at Worldskills
Mark took out the prestigious award after competing in the Turning category of Australia’s largest skills competition hosted at the International Convention Centre over the last three days.
Mark Blewden said “I would like to thank my boss Anthony Macready and AGM Engineering for all the brilliant training with helping me to prepare, as well as my teachers at TAFE NSW for the training they’ve provided me with. I’m really looking forward to what the future holds for me.”
Member of the Legislative Council and Blue Mountains resident Shayne Mallard MP said that TAFE NSW students are in high demand because of the quality of their education and ability to hit the ground running with relevant and practical skills.
“The NSW Government is delivering on its vision for a strong and publicly owned VET provider through its One TAFE NSW reforms. TAFE NSW students winning these awards demonstrate what is on offer for students if they choose a VET based education. I am thrilled to see local students from the public VET provider receive these accolades.
“Congratulations to Mark and all winners and I look forward to seeing even more TAFE NSW students recognised for their achievements in the future,” Mr Mallard said.
