With Spring just around the corner, a reminder that our monthly “TIGER TEE” event will start on the last Wednesday in September. From then on, the course will be set up with a greater degree of difficulty for great prizes on the last Wednesday of every month throughout the daylight saving period. Entry will be only $20 for a chance at some great prizes.

BLACKHEATH LADIESThursday 21st September was a Singles Stableford event sponsored by Yvonne Murray. Sanded greens and gusty winds again challenged the players. The winner was Jocalyn Lawler (27) 32 , followed by Barb Wall (17) 32. Nearest-to-Pin on the 17th hole was Barb, while Carrie Soady won on the "Vegie Patch" 13th. Balls went to Jocalyn, Carrie, Barb, Rhonda Lonergan, Jeanette Hawkins, Pat Honeysett and Kerrie Wynne.
 
Saturday 23rd September was a Stableford event sponsored by Judy Greive, a wonderful Sydney-based member who married a Board Member's son many years ago. The marriage vows obviously included eternal love not only for Barry, but also the Club. The winner was Barbara Tyrrell ((38) 36 with runner-up Lynne Pressley (24) 35. The Nearest-to-Pin Blackheath "Vegie Patch" sponsored 13th hole was won by Helen Rabone. Balls went to Barbara, Lynne, Kerrie Wynne, Yvonne Murray, Virginia Hurst, Marilyn Rowe and Louise Aaron.
 
BLACKHEATH MEN … Wednesday 20th September saw the men’s midweek competition played in good conditions at the Blue Mountains’ premier course. The winner of the Singles Stableford event and a $45 voucher was Seong Park (17) 42 OCB from Richard Soady (25) 42. Aub Huggins (23) and David Wood (13) combined to win the 2BBB OCB over Russell Curtis (8) and Roger Saxton(17). Both teams scored 48 points! Steve Tolhurst won the 5th NTP (328cm) and Michael Mole won the 17th (505cm). The greens continue to recover from coring, to be on prime condition in 2 weeks when the busy summer schedule gets underway. On Sunday from 10.30 for $30 you (anyone) can join is in playing the "Greenkeeper's revenge", A 9 hole challenge designed by our ground staff. Lunch is included. This day was very successful last year, and lots of fun! The Legends Pro-Am is on Friday 13th October. The pros tell us exactly what they think of our course, and we expect accolades on the day. Saturday 16th September … was a Bonus Par event sponsored by our Clayton's Club. The Club plays on Wednesday mornings from 9.00am, and organises all handicapped golfers into games. Good weather but with gusty winds saw Aubrey Huggins (23) 3+ successful over Geoff Cope (13) 4+ and James Robertson (21) 3+. Balls went to 2-.  
The Nearest-to-Pin winner on the second (sponsor: Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters & Cabinet Making) was Peter Bamford (98cm). On the 5th  (Office Choice Blue Mountains) John Grant won for the second week in a row, beating his previous 392cm by 160cm. On the 7th  (Paul & Gabrielle Loneragan) was Rob Thompson (750cm), on the 13th (Blue Mountains Escapes) was Alistair Campbell (226cm), on the 14th Rob Thompson again (170cm) and on Ben Cameron's 17th hole, Mick Campbell (300cm).

Remember our free Junior Clinics from 3.45 to 4.30pm during school terms, and any junior of school age is most welcome. No equipment required, just ring Darrin, or just turn up.
