The golden light and russet maple leaves make Autumn a magical time to visit the Blue Mountain Botanic Garden Mount Tomah. Make the most of your day or overnight trip by checking out one of our nature-inspired workshops, exhibitions, or school holiday programs.

The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah is famed for the maples that turn russet, copper, and gold at this time of year. One of the finest collections of maples in the Southern Hemisphere, our team of horticulturalists and arborists keep the trees in tip-top condition throughout this most insta-worthy of seasons.

Whether part of a Blue Mountains road trip with the family, or a regular lunch at The Potager, make the most of this unique time of year and combine your visit to the Garden with a walk beneath the maples and one of our special Autumn events.

Bulbs to Blooms

When the leaves fall it is time to put bulbs in the ground (or the pot). Join the Bulbs to Blooms hands-on workshop on 17 March. Bulb expert Mat Murray has over thirty years of experience cultivating bulbs and will share his techniques for designing and perfecting magnificent flowering displays.

Textiles at Tomah

Flora Sensa is an exhibition of ten textile artists from the Blue Mountains, exploring heightened moments when flowers touched their lives.

Ranging from weaving, felting and sewing to printmaking and installations, each artist brings their own experiences and skill to create a tapestry of colour and meaning, evoking moments that we all share as humans - birth, death, joy, grief - expressed through the metaphor of flowers.

Check out the exhibition from 13 April to 26 May.

Buzzy Bees

Like our landscapes and people, our native bees are beautiful, diverse and fascinating. Join Megan Halcroft PhD at Buzz on Native Bees to learn about how bees drive biodiversity and support food security as the world’s most efficient flower pollinators.

Available on 16 March and 23 April, both events will commence with a seminar on native bees followed by a hands-on walk, talk and live study of native bees and other insects.

Fairy Fun in the Mountains

Fairies are having an adventure at the Blue Mountain Botanic Garden Mount Tomah these school holidays! Fairy Adventure interactive theatre takes children on a journey of mischief and magic, while learning about how the fairies live in harmony with plants and animals and how we can do the same. Join the fun on Thursday 18 April.

Calling all Mini Scientists!

Nerd Alert is two hours of hands-on science for curious kids who like to make things, experiment, use gadgets and find out cool stuff. These school holidays have fun in our Messing Around with Boats program on Monday 15 April, and come back for Light and Colour on Tuesday 16 April.
