Acclaimed Gypsy-Jazz Band Faith I Branko Heading to Blue Mountains Theatre in February
Combining the accordion, violin, effects pedal and tabor pipe, Faith I Branko take the audience on a journey from melancholy Roma violin laments to storming Serbian 'kolos' and explorations into jazz improvisation, swing, Gypsy Rumba and Turkish- and Indian-influenced violin solos.
Branko Ristic, a self-taught virtuosic Serbian Roma violinist joins with Faith Ristic, leading UK accordionist, to create a style that draws upon their musical heritages and expresses their unique personal connection. Faith and Branko met in Branko’s Roma village in 2009, and with music as their only tool for communication, began a journey that would lead to the creation of their acclaimed debut album “Gypsy Lover” and their marriage!
Together, Faith I Branko create unique music that is passionate, joyous, fiery and spirited.
"Musically a delight...these virtuosic performers are a major discovery"
