A Fantastic Choral Opportunity for Blue Mountains Children!
Aunty Carol is a patron of the BMYC and an ambassador for Zest. The ZEST Awards showcase the great work of the Community Sector across the region, promoting a positive image of Greater Western Sydney region by highlighting our assets, our diversity and our creative and innovative work. It will be held in a function room at the ANZ Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park and will be attended by approximately 500 people.
Blue Mountains Youth Choir is inviting all interested children aged 9-16 to join them in representing the Mountains in this exciting event. In preparation for the concert there will be two rehearsals at the Mid-Mountains Community Centre, Lawson on Sunday 3rd and 10th of February led by choir leader Jenni Mills. The singers are fortunate to have distinguished conductor and composer Paul Terracini to direct the final performance.
The cost will be determined by the number of children participating. We expect it to be no more than $60 per child, which includes all tuition, rehearsal and performance time, bus travel and our choir leader and conductor expenses. Travel to and from the venue will be by charter bus, with pick up and drop off points at Katoomba and Springwood.
The Zest Awards Ceremony is a highly sought-after prestigious event and Blue Mountains children are very fortunate to be invited to participate. The performance will be filmed and the DVD will be available to our families.
