Local Government Minister Gabrielle Upton has today issued a notice of intent to suspend Blue Mountains Council for three months and is set to appoint an interim administrator after revelations that an 'independent' investigator reviewing the council’s conduct over asbestos management, had a possible conflict of interest.

Shayne Mallard MP has announced a new international ‘sister park’ for Jenolan Caves. “A historic sister park partnership between The Jenolan Caves Conservation Trust and Zhijindong Caves Global Geopark was recently signed by Bob Conroy, Administrator of the Jenolan Caves Conservation Trust on a visit to the spectacular karst landscape in Guizhou Province in south-west China,” Mr Mallard said. Mr Conroy said Jenolan Caves is very proud to have established the partnership with Zhijindong Caves Global Geopark.
