$30k Boost for Penrith Symphony Orchestra’s 2019 Program
The Orchestra is one of 53 supported organisations sharing a total of $4,030,000 through Create NSW's Arts and Cultural Organisations Program funding to help organisations bring their offering to local audiences.
"In addition to multi-year support provided across the sector, this investment will help a broad range of NSW arts and cultural organisations stage a huge variety of annual programs of events, exhibitions and performances for the State to enjoy year-round," said Minister Harwin.
"This annual funding will help the orchestra to improve its offering, contribute to local employment and just as importantly, increase the number of opportunities for audiences to access and enjoy arts and culture locally."
"I'm particularly pleased to note that nearly a quarter of the overall funding will be delivered across Western Sydney as a priority area across our arts, screen and culture investment" he said.
Mr Ayres added, "We're delighted that this funding will help the orchestra to deliver its exciting 2019 line-up of activity. This support is crucial and I know that its outcomes will be greatly received not only by the local community, but across visitors to the area too."
Mr John Pearce of the Penrith Symphony Orchestra welcomed the funding "I encourage people to head to our website and take a look at what our 2019 season has on offer."
Arts and Cultural Organisations Program funding from Create NSW supports NSW organisations with their annual programs of multiple activities and can be used to contribute to any aspect of their program. Applications for the 2018/19 round were assessed by three independent peer panels covering multi-arts, performing arts (including music) and visual arts, literature and museums.
