2018 Community Building Partnership Program Now Open
Stuart Ayres said $330,000 is available for projects in each NSW electorate, including Penrith and the Blue Mountains, and urged local councils and not-for-profit groups to apply for the funds they need to deliver projects with social, environmental and recreational outcomes.
“Local sports clubs, charities, men’s sheds and Scouts or Girl Guides are just some of the groups that benefit from this program,” Stuart Ayres said.
Under the 2017 CBP round, local recipients included:
- Emu Heights Public School P&C Assoc. $18,846
- Queen of Hearts Community Foundation $16,994
- Penrith South Public School P & C Assoc. $30,000
- Emu Plains Girl Guides Association $30,030
- Jamisontown Soccer Club $51,638
- Emu Plains Anglican $32,600
- Nepean District Cricket Association Inc. $40,000
- Rotary Club of Lower Blue Mountains Inc. $16,335
- Penrith District Netball Assoc. $28,557
- Glenbrook Blaxland Cricket Club Inc. $35,000.
“The NSW Government has made improving local infrastructure a key priority and our strong economic management allows us to make this investment.
“If your organisation or club needs extra funding for the building, refurbishment or enhancement of facilities, then I’d strongly encourage you to apply.”
The Community Building Partnership program has awarded $275 million in funding to 12,000 community projects since it commenced in 2009.
“This is a great opportunity to get the support your community group needs to make real improvements in the places you meet, train or recreate,” Stuart Ayres said.
“Take the time to prepare and submit your application so you don’t miss out.”
Applications are open from Monday 7 May and close at 5pm on Friday 15 June 2018. Applicants must read the program guidelines to ensure their club or organisation and proposed project are eligible.
