Rachael Brady & Moonshine | 5 March, 8pm
$35.00 *
* Plus $3.30 booking fee
An evening of sweeping Americana blues, country and rockabilly.
Rachael Brady and The Moonshine Special embody the sex appeal, rebellious spirit and wild energy of rockabilly icons like Wanda Jackson, Brenda Lee and Patsy Cline.
One of the Blue Mountains’ most talented singers, Brady is a frontwoman like few others: a vocal and emotional powerhouse whose intimate entanglement with each tale of love, lust or woe is captivatingly real.
Vivacious, funny, incandescent and with an enormous voice that arrests the ear, she is artfully buoyed along by her troupe of accomplished players.
Be held captive by tales of train wrecks, funereal lullabies and love gone, gone, gone as they offer up an assemblage of nostalgia-laden, rockabilly, alt-country-noir originals in addition to a handful of obscure covers from the 20s to the 50s that pay homage to the roots of their original sound - tunes from artists like Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and the Kirby Sisters.
Folks'll laugh, folks'll cry but above all, they'll dance – Covid restrictions permitting!
This concert is part of the Wanderlust Concert Series. See website for details and tickets.
