We are offering different modes of therapy, as appropriate, and as negotiated with your clinician prior to the appointment.

Regardless of the way in which you connect with your therapist, your referrals and rebates still apply.

About Us:

Cathy O’Brien
, Practice Principal, is a Psychologist and Family Therapist. She specialises in working with young people, as well as adults, and can see individuals, and families. She also supervises clinicians individually and as teams. She has extensive experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Teams, the not-for-profit sector, and private practice, and draws on Systemic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, CBT, DBT, and EMDR. Above all, she aims to work collaboratively, flexibly and with good humour. Consultations: Mondays,Tuesday and Thursdays, with some after hours appointments. Medicare. Ph: 02 4739 6464. Cathy is accepting new referrals.

Ann Morris is a Clinical Social Worker (AASW accredited) with a wealth of experience in Community Health and in Private Practice. She is passionate in her work with people who have suffered all types of trauma (sexual, physical, & emotional abuse in childhood & in adulthood), and with concerns related to sexuality, sexual functioning, sexual orientation & gender identity. She sees people for anxiety, depression, acute and chronic illness, ageing, grief & loss. She provides EMDR (EMDRAA member), and is skilled in Narrative Therapy, ACT, Mindfulness practices, hypnotherapy & CBT. Ann provides clinical supervision. Consultations: Thursdays. Medicare, PTS. Christine Prentice is a Clinical Social Worker (Syd Uni) who has been in practice for 31years, in Public Health and Private Practice. She is known for her skills in working closely with those who have experienced trauma, Complex PTS or Dissociation. She assists clients working through the impact of grief, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, domestic violence, and traumatic events sustained through life. Christine is trained in EMDR and TRTP. With warmth, Christine works from a Narrative Therapy model that incorporates ACT, Mindfulness and DBT. Consultations: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Victims of Crime, Medicare, and Workcover. Kylie Grigg is a Psychologist who works with children, adolescents and adults. She worked for 16 years for NSW Health in community mental health and trauma specific services, including running regular DBT groups. Kylie has specific trauma training in EMDR, somatic therapies and recent accreditation in TIST (Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment). She enjoys working with individuals and families across all ages of the lifespan treating anxiety, depression, complex trauma, grief and attachment and relational difficulties.  Kylie also provides supervision to other health professionals.

Warwick Poulsen is a Psychologist and Counsellor. He has over twenty years experience working with adults and adolescents in community mental health teams. His holistic approach is informed by Transactional Analysis, Jungian Analytical Psychology, Logotherapy, and other humanistic approaches, as well as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy. He has received formal training in both Gestalt and EMDR Therapy. Warwick's warm, down-to-earth style makes him a specialist in therapeutic relationship, and his extensive training and practice of Qi Gong and Tai Chi informs his knowledge of moving mindfulness. Josephine Lauria is a Clinical Psychologist with over fifteen years’ experience working with adults and young people on a wide range of concerns. She has worked in both private practice and extensively in Community Health and Mental Health services. Josephine is particularly passionate about treating anxiety and mood disorders, the effects of childhood trauma, and assisting women (and partners/families) who may be experiencing challenges during pregnancy and the postnatal period (adjustment struggles, attachment/bonding difficulties, perinatal loss and/or trauma and relationship changes). Josephine enjoys working collaboratively with clients to develop individualised treatment goals and uses an attachment-based and trauma-informed approach to her work. She is also skilled in using evidence-based treatments such as CBT, DBT, IPT, Schema Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy. Linda MacKay is an Individual, Couple and Family Therapist, accredited supervisor and adjunct lecturer at the University of Notre Dame, Australia. She provides clinical supervision and training in couple and family therapy to practitioners and teams (often in adolescent mental health). She also provides consultation and leadership training to individuals and non-clinical organisational and family business environments.  Linda, whose PhD in Critical Psychology, is the Associate Editor of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Family Therapy. She has published peer reviewed articles on trauma, adolescents and their families, parenting and supervision. Linda utilises a Bowen family systems framework to understand managing conflict, issues related to sex and intimacy, affairs, violence and abuse, and parenting symptomatic children and young people (Parent Hope Project). Lynley McNab is a Psychologist with longstanding experience in psychology and school counselling in school settings. Trained in psychodrama, and with previous careers as a special education teacher and speech therapist, Lynley excels at work with children and adolescents, working with disabilities including learning difficulties. Her passion and deep belief is that understanding and healing emerges from team work; working alongside children, adolescents and adults, grappling with complex issues within a systems thinking framework and valuing the creativity and life spark in every human being. Lynley provides individual as well as group therapies and provides supervision of other clinicians and teachers. Consultations: Fridays. Medicare, self-managed NDIS.

Rose Glassock is a Psychologist.
 Rose works with clients across the life span with an empathic, caring and collaborative approach. She has extensive experience helping children and young people alongside their parents/carers with issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and relationship issues. Rose tailors support to meet the needs of each client utilising a variety of approaches: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focussed therapy & a Positive Psychology framework. Rose has led a team of psychologists, disaster recovery responses and school teams. She brings this experience to provide professional mentoring focussing on self-care, trauma stewardship and strategies to address burnout and compassion fatigue. Mitch Watkins is a psychologist who has over 10 years’ experience working within education, and has a background in primary school teaching. Mitch has a deep passion for helping children, adolescents, families and adults to overcome barriers and improve wellbeing. Mitch enjoys listening with a warm, empathic and genuine approach to counselling. He prides himself on creating a reflective and save environment, and values transparency, trust and humour within a therapeutic relationship. Geraldine Richardson is our part-time practice receptionist. Geraldine is experienced in general and health practice administration, and with enterprises both large and small. She is now enjoying working back in her local community.

Jane Hansen has joined us as a part time practice receptionist. Jane has a wealth of business administration experience, and is thrilled to be working now within our mountains community.

FEES: these vary depending on the clinician, and your type of referral. Clinicians generally charge between $180 and $245 per session. Medicare rebates (with Mental Health Care Plan referral) give close to $92(Psychology) and $81(Social Work) rebates per session. Alternatively, private health funds can give rebates.
Also, many people can be eligible for referrals that allow them to access free therapy (such as those with Health Care Cards, Victims of Crimes, and other categories). Ask the therapist you want to see about this.

Group Therapies which are medicare subsidised and run by psychologists for people with anxiety and depression are held periodically, so please call us for information.
