Richmond Players was formed through the Richmond Branch of the Country Women's Association.One Act plays were performed in the CWA rooms in Richmond and in 1954 the first three act play was performed in the School of Arts, Richmond. This play was "Ladies in Retirement" directed by Dallas Blake.
Richmond Players have presented plays and musicals, including pantomime and theatre/restaurant every year since 1952 making it the longest, continually operating drama group in NSW.
