Apart from Blue Mountains Journeys, I have two previous published histories on the Blue Mountains community: the National Trust award-winning Hazelbrook and Woodford: a story of two Blue Mountains towns and Mountains Springtime: a History of Blue Mountains Grammar School.
I have had a long association with the Blue Mountains, beginning with regular family holidays as a child. My wife and I bought a cottage in the lower mountains at Springwood in 1961.
Blue Mountains Journeys
* Author Ken Goodlet
Blue Mountains Journeys by long-term Blue Mountains resident Ken Goodlet takes a look at journeys within and across the mountains from pre-colonial times to the present. It features indigenous peoples, colonial explorers and surveyors, fortune-seekers, travellers heading west, wagoners, marauders, rail travellers and workers, holidaymakers, settlers, commuters, conservationists, trailblazers and ramblers, cyclists and motorists. This 256 page book with over 380 images, illustrations and maps, some in colour, is Ken’s fifth community history.
