Bower Cottage Accommodation

Quiet and on the edge of town, this property with it's main house and two private accommodations is on an acre and a quarter and was originally farmland and the old produce store for Blackheath.
Away from the hustle and bustle and only five minutes to town it's a place to help you rest, explore and reconnect.
We border The Blue Mountains National Park so we care deeply about our environment and our guest's enjoyment and it's a short walk to the escarpment views along our Back Track.

Bower Cottage
Our one bedroom cabin is styled simply with original artworks and is kept beautifully warm with a slow combustion style, gas log fire. There's a kitchen to prepare meals and we stock pantry items so that you don't have to... olive oil, vinegar, soy sauce, salt and pepper grinders, coffee, black, green and a selection of herbal teas and hot chocolate for those colder days.
Sink into the deep, double spa, to soak after a day spent exploring the mountains or walking The Grand Canyon Track. The queen bed boasts beautiful quality linen and there's a sunny deck with weber BBQ so you can cook outside and enjoy a morning cuppa or an afternoon drink.

A Bower Above
The French doors of A Bower Above open onto a large deck and from every window you'll enjoy treetop views and diverse birdlife. A Bower Above is an elevated studio (there is a staircase with 15 stairs) and it's perfect for a couple's retreat or a single person wanting a quiet, nature filled break (we do discounts for singles midweek). In winter it's sunny and light, with a slow combustion style gas log fire to keep you cosy. In summer it's shaded and cool with a covered deck that catches the breeze and reverse cycle air con. There's also a kitchen to prepare meals and a double spa to relax in after exploring the canyon floor.

Our property is solar powered, grid connected and carbon neutral. We have onsite water recycling all water is recycled through an envirocycle system and is used to water our orchard.  We only use non toxic bath and cleaning products.

Bower Cottage has a queen size bed and a double pull-out sofa-bed. A Bower Above has a queen size bed (we can organise an extra double mattress for separate sleepers)

How To Get Here..

Driving from Sydney, simply head west along the M4 Motorway. The motorway becomes The Great Western Highway at the Nepean River near Penrith. Most of the interesting and historic towns of the Blue Mountains follow this highway in one long line.
At the bottom is the town of Glenbrook. Look out for the Tourist Information Centre on your left. Here you can collect maps, walking guides and tourist information and there is a good selection of lunch and coffee shops in the town itself.
From here it's nearly a one hour drive to Blackheath. Near the top you'll come to Leura (another nice shopping, lunch and coffee spot) then Katoomba (Three Sisters and Scenic Railway) and then Medlow Bath (with the famous Hydro Majestic Hotel on your left).
After 3kms past the traffic light at Medlow Bath, start looking for the Evans Lookout Rd  turnoff on your right (or 1km past the town of Blackheath if travelling from the West). It is well signposted and there's a cottage covered in brightly painted murals on the corner. Exactly 2kms down Evans Lookout Rd is 176. Look for the black and white sign on the left with the very large 176!
