A family holiday & heritage house with warmth and character.
Waragil Cottage is a heritage home nestled in a sheltered & quiet hollow, with a sunny northern aspect, yet only 250 metre easy walk from Blackheath Train Station, on the Blue Mountains Line; and away from the busy Great Western Highway.
It is an easy walking distance to the village shops and bush walk trail heads.
The cottage offers fully self contained accomodation for up to 8 people.
Base Tariff includes 4 people and extra guests are charged a $40 fee per/person, per/night.
With one double bedroom, a family bedroom (double bed + 2 single bed futons), a double sofa bed in the lounge, and a single bed in a large rear sunroom ("sleepout"), with views of the garden.
Waragil Cottage has a long rambling and shady garden – perfect for sunny day BBQ’s and relaxing with the kids.
There is a gas fired "log fire", continuous gas hot water, and heating in the bedrooms.
The kitchen is well equipped with a gas stove and microwave, and a selection of recipe books for inspiration.
Infants & Children are Welcome.
Two “port-a-cots” and a high chair are provided, with a selection of children's books and toys.
The family bedroom has a double bed and two single bed futons.
There are wonderful walks beginning 5 minute's walk from Waragil Cottage.
A circuit via Fort Rock offers an outstanding lookout over the Kanimbla Valley – this is a great trip for kids.
Other great walking tracks nearby include Centennial Glen, Walls Ledge, Porter’s Pass canyon and Collier’s Causeway.
On hot days, there is a cool creek 10 minutes walk from the cottage on the track to Centennial Glen, which continues into the Grotto canyon, with year round, cooling waterfalls.
Some of Australia’s finest rock climbing lie within walking distance of Waragil Cottage, with grades to suit the expert and novice alike.
Centennial Glen is a wonderful series of grottos, overhanging walls, gardens, and waterfalls. It is one of Australia’s premier sport climbing venues. The access tracks commence 5 minutes’ walk from Waragil Cottage. Mt Boyce offers fantastic multi-pitch rock climbing, ~ 25 minutes' walk from the cottage.

Waragil Cottage is 110 Km by road from the Sydney CBD.
From Canberra, we recommend travelling by the fully sealed road from Goulburn, north via the picturesque villages of Taralga & Oberon, passing the Abercrombie River gorge and close to Jenolan Caves.
Waragil Cottage is 304 Km from Canberra - driving time from Canberra is 3.5hrs.
