Warrimoo is the next town after Blaxland when travelling west along the Great Western Highway. Warrimoo is a small town with a handful of businesses ideally situated on the Great Western Highway. The general store also acts as the local Post Office. Warrimoo is primarily residential with its own primary school located on Florabella Street.
Warrimoo businesses successfully survived the widening of the Great Western Highway to four lanes in '97- '98. The end result is a significantly safer road and a vast improvement on previous conditions.
Visitors may wish to stop at the Antique Shop, check out properties for sale in the Real Estate or even dine in the local restaurant.
WarrimooThe name Warrimoo is aboriginal for place of eagles or eagle's nest.
Adjacent to Warrimoo Station is Ardill Park, which has been re-landscaped - a great resting place for the family.
On the opposite side of the railway line to the Great Western Highway you can take Rickard Road to Warrimoo’s Recreation Reserve.
At the reserve you will find Warrimoo Oval and tennis courts opposite Wycliffe Christian School.
Warrimoo is also known as ‘Blinky Bill Territory’ - the Australian author Dorothy Wall lived in Florabella Street.
