Recent Activity

 

The SES responded to over 100 calls for assistance throughout November, with 80 incidents on the 22nd November.

The majority of calls were for trees that had fallen and the SES have completed all outstanding tasks with the assistance of the NSW Fire Brigade and Rural Fire Service.

The SES remains on high alert for the Summer Storm Season

Queensland Assistance

 

The Blue Mountains SES assisted Queensland SES by send a team for the last week to assist in their Storm recovery with a second team placed on standby.


18 May 2008 -

NorthFace 100

 

On the 17th & 18th May 2008, over 50 volunteers from the Blue Mountains SES Unit provided support to the inaugural NorthFace 100. The 100km race started and finished at Fairmont Resort in Leura but runners travelled into the Jamison Valley, along Narrow Neck into Megalong Valley, back to Katoomba and Echo Point, in to Jamison Valley then to Kings Tableland and back to Fairmont. The Unit staffed 6 checkpoints, provided remote marshalling teams, roving first aid / support teams and full communications support for the event.
