Rotary International is an organisation of business and professional people united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

This is exemplified in the official Rotary International motto: -

"Service Above Self"

The ideals of Rotary are also demonstrated in the 4-Way Test, which Rotarians seek to apply in all situations. The 4-Way Test is: -

"Of the things we think, say or do,

1.	*Is it the TRUTH?*
2.	*Is it FAIR to all concerned?*
3.	*Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?*
4.	*Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"*

Rotary provides members with four avenues to give service to others. These are: -

Community Service

Vocational Service

International Service, and

Youth Service
