| The Parklands landscape
is dominated by hundreds of magnificent trees. There are gigantic cypresses and pines that
were first planted as young saplings over 100 years ago. There are avenues of oaks and
maples, birch groves, flowering cherries, tulip trees, crabapples, willows, nyssas, copper
beeches and many more. These provide the backdrop for the stunning gardens of sweeping
lawns, ponds, waterfalls, a lake and splendid old rhododendrons, some towering over 4
meters high. The gardens included areas designed and planted by the well
know Blue Mountains' landscape artiste, Paul Sorensen. |
