Dinosaur Island's T-Rex Visits the Three Sisters

The Mighty T-Rex visits Echo Point
Katoomba's Three Sisters had some fierce competition when Rex, one of the stars of the upcoming family film Dinosaur Island visited Echo Point lookout in the Blue Mountains.

Rex arrived in the Blue Mountains early in the morning in order to avoid the crowds, preferring to keep his visit “low-key” ahead of the films’ upcoming release. The Blue Mountains is reportedly one of Rex’s favourite locations after he fell in love with the area while shooting scenes for Dinosaur Island in the Grose Valley last year.

It is rumoured his love of the area has been the impetus for a reported push by the stars representatives to guarantee Director, Matt Drummond shoots his next creature feature in the World Heritage listed region. Unusually camera shy, and suffering from jet lag after returning from overseas promotional commitments, Rex has made it pretty clear that the Blue Mountains is definitely “open for business.”

Dinosaur Island releases nationwide on 14 Feb 2015.

The adventure begins when Lucas (Darius Williams) a 13 year old boy embarks on the vacation of a lifetime. When disaster strikes, Lucas finds himself stranded in a strange land littered with ghost ships and prehistoric creatures.

While searching for other signs of life, Lucas hears a radio broadcast in the distance and is drawn into the jungle where he encounters a beautiful young girl who claims to have come from the 1950s (Kate Rasmussen.) Together they set out on a quest to get home all the while uncovering secrets that will forever change the future.

Dinosaur Island's star, Darius Williams is a Blue Mountains resident, currently attending year 10 at Blue Mountains Grammar School. The film is directed by Blue Mountains Grammar alumnus Matthew Drummond, who won an Emmy award in 2014 for Outstanding Graphic Design.
