Built
in 1927 Gladstone Lodge, an original guest house of the Blue Mountains,
has been authentically restored to its former grandeur complete
with the original oak furniture that once graced its rooms and halls.
Enter
the warm inviting foyer and step back to a bygone era where cedar
panelling lines the walls and traditional rugs are soft underfoot.
Let the log fire
melt your cares away as Margaret your host escorts you to your room
and you become familiar with Gladstone Lodge.

Bedroom

 |
French
doors open out to a large verandah where you can sit, relax
and enjoy the daily papers while sipping a coffee or tea. |
Bedroom
Two
| Usually
referred to as the "pink room" this is the one most
chosen by guests. Read or unwind in the maroon velvet twin theatre
seat rescued from the Regent Theatre Sydney. |

Bedroom

If
tranquillity is what you are seeking this room is for you. Sun
drenched during the day, at night this room becomes a haven
for dreams as you snuggle under the puff quilted doona. |
With
accommodation for only three couples you have the choice of either
enjoying your own company or joining the other guests in the lounge
room.
Sink
into deep club armchairs, read the daily papers, listen to music
from the extensive CD collection or sip an after dinner port in
front of an open log fire - a truly romantic atmosphere.
Morning
sees you in the dining room where crisp white linen, aromatic candles
and polished silverware invite you to partake of the scrumptious
breakfast. Whilst waiting between courses why not inspect the 300
cottage teapots adorning the walls or the theatre and film memorabilia
collected over the years by your host Margaret.
There
is the family theatre seat used in the depression where for 2/6
you could fit in as many family members as possible. There are the
authentic cigarette cards of the 1930s depicting past stage and
screen idols and if, after breakfast you are in a rush to get started
on your mountain activities leave via the door where the EXIT sign
from the HUB Theatre in Newtown now hangs.
