Gallery
Fernbrook gallery is the working studio of Elaine Musgrave who is a well known botanical artist being a member of the Botanical Art Society of Australia, American Society of Botanical Artists and the Illustrators Association of Australia. Elaine's work is included in many Australian and overseas collections.
An old milking shed, already in existence near the entrance to the garden, has been lovingly renovated to enable Elaine to combine her studio with her gallery, where visitors can view her very finely detailed watercolour and graphite studies and are also welcome to watch her at work.
Exhibitions include:
- Inspired by Nature Mt Tomah Botanic Garden 1997
- 'Botanica - The Art of the Plant' Lion Gate Lodge, Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney 1999 to 2005. 'The Masters' Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney 2006 and 'Botanica' 2007
- 11th International Exhibition of Botanical Art - Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation 2004, Pittsburgh USA
- State of the Waratah Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney during the Olympic Games period 2000
- Gardens, Sydney, Annual exhibitions 1999 to 2004
- The ASBA and The Horticultural Society of New York's fifth Annual International Juried Botanical Art Exhibition Horticultural Society, New York 2002
- Awarded a Gold Medal at the Royal Horticultural Society London Show, January 2003 for exhibit of 8 paintings of Australian Native Orchids Dendrobium species.
In addition to the original paintings by Elaine, works by other artists are included in the gallery display from time to time. Limited edition prints of Elaine's work are also available for sale, and there is a small range of attractive and unusual gifts.
