| Projects Amongst
numerous projects already funded by the Friends are the Rose Garden and Herb Garden
in Sydney, the Viewing Platform at Mount Tomah, Wollemi Pine research at Mount
Annan, and the provision of seats for all three gardens. Also
an annual scholarship is awarded to a member of the horticultural staff. Such
undertakings are made possible by the success of the Friends fund-raising
activities and by donations. Donations to the Friends are tax deductible. Member's
Benefits Members receive a quarterly
newsletter, The Gardens, containing articles of interest and a program
of forthcoming events. Free entry to the Mount Tomah Botanic Garden, the Mount
Annan Botanic Garden, and the Sydney Tropical Centre is included in the membership.
Members also receive a free quarterly seed offer, a discount on most items in
the Gardens Shops, and the opportunity to attend lectures, seminars, and practical
demonstrations. As well there are special interest tours both within Australia
and overseas, bush walks, bird walks and visits to areas behind-the-scenes. The
Mount Tomah Sub-committee of the Friends organises events at the Mount Tomah Botanic
Garden and in the district. |
