Winter Magic Festival
Saturday 24 June 2017
The Winter Magic Festival 2017 will be held on Saturday 24 June in the streets of Katoomba, Blue Mountains.
The Winter Magic Festival is the Blue Mountains biggest annual event. It's a time when musicians and magicians, jugglers and gymnasts, dancers and performers, drummers and guitarists, clowns, choirs and the local community take over one of Australia's most famous towns.
"Gaia. Our Winter • Our Magic • Our Connection"In mythology, Gaia is the complete personification of planet earth and is one of the Greek primordial deities. Gaia is the ancestral mother of all life: the primal Mother Earth goddess. This year, The Winter Magic Festival celebrates the connection between Mother Earth and the Festival - essentially the Winter Solstice. The Magic of Winter comes alive when we celebrate the seasons entering spring in preparation new life, new growth and new beginnings.
The Gaia Theme personifies nature and Mother Earth and the environment that we live in - the trees, the leaves, the branches and how Mother Earth arms nurture the eco system that we live in here in the Blue Mountains.
How To Get Here..
Let us put in a special word for the train.
The train leaves from the centre of Sydney and drops you right in the centre of the Festival.
In fact, when you walk off the train you are in it.
The train is a great way to get to Katoomba and Winter Magic.
Sitting high on the ridge you have a view of the world famous Blue Mountains that the car driver has only heard about.
Trains depart every hour from Sydney's Central Station.
Katoomba also has very reliable taxi and bus services which really make the car unnecessary on festival day.
